Scaling up local, sustainable food systems

On September 28th and 29th, a hundred educators from across the Midwest and as far away as Hawaii came together in Madison to explore ideas and strategies for scaling up local food systems. On the first morning, the group also included forty farmers, food entrepreneurs, researchers and activists from Wisconsin. The work CIAS is doing on scaling up local food systems is the reason the training was held here, and CIAS staffers Anne Pfeiffer, Lindsey Day Farnsworth and Diane Mayerfeld took the lead in organizing the conference.
