A coalition of forward-thinking farmers, economists, environmentalists, health professionals, sportsmen, rural citizens and others concerned with the quality and safety of food, water and air, will come together at the first annual Wisconsin Forum on Rural and Urban Agriculture . The goal of the forum is to unite participants around shared goals through information, participation and action.Former CIAS Citizens Advisory Council members Bob Wills and Valerie Dantoin Adamski will lead breakout sessions, and current Council members Kat Becker and Tony Schultz will deliver a keynote presentation.

CIAS staff, programs featured in Grow Magazine

The Spring 2012 issue of Grow Magazine from CALS includes a feature article on "Growing Future Farmers." The article profiles CIAS staff member Rebecca Claypool, who raises vegetables on her farm near Avoca, Wisconsin. Rebecca works on our Veggie Compass project. The article also features the Wisconsin School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers, directed by CIAS staff member and beef farmer Dick Cates. Read the article here.
