Roger Blobaum will present this seminar as part of the UW-Agroecology Public Seminar Series. A campus-wide student potluck for Mr. Blobaum will follow at 6pm, Student Activity Center, 333 East Campus Mall.

Blobaum is an independent consultant providing project design, management, research and other services to organic and sustainable agriculture organizations and institutions. As an organic farming advocate, he has served many years on international and national boards, committees and advisory groups. He has been cited by Natural Foods Merchandiser magazine as one of the 25 individuals who have done the most to develop organic agriculture in the United States.

CIAS staff, programs featured in Grow Magazine

The Spring 2012 issue of Grow Magazine from CALS includes a feature article on "Growing Future Farmers." The article profiles CIAS staff member Rebecca Claypool, who raises vegetables on her farm near Avoca, Wisconsin. Rebecca works on our Veggie Compass project. The article also features the Wisconsin School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers, directed by CIAS staff member and beef farmer Dick Cates. Read the article here.
